In this paper a 2D finite element numerical simulation method by considering the geometrical model of the real transformer core and windings is proposed to accurately compute the magnetic stray fields and corresponding effects of high frequency harmonic currents in a standard and a double tier winding transformer. Validation of the simulation results with analytical and measured field data has also been included.
